Accessing OpenHR in Edge

This process will allow you to access OpenHR via Edge on your Laptop. This process makes the assumption that Edge is up to date, if you don't see any of these options please raise a ticket at the Service Desk and we can investigate with you.

  1. Connect to the Sophos Connect VPN Viewing connection details in the Sophos application
  2. Double click on the icon shown (Microsoft Edge) on your desktop or in Start Menu The Microsoft Edge desktop icon
  3. Maximize the window selecting the shown icon: Broswer icons with the maximise button highlighted with a yellow box
  4. First time using OpenHR in the browser? you will have to continue from this step, after the first time, this is NOT required and you can bypass this and skip to Step 11. Click the shown icon: Browser toolbar buttons with the three dots highlighted in a black box
  5. Select the option Settings (If you do not maximize your window you may not see this, please complete Step 3 to do this),
  6. Select the option for Cookies and Site Permissions: The settings menu with 'cookies and site permissions' highlighted in a black box

  8. Select See all cookies and site data: 'See all cookies and site data' is highlighted in a black, on a screen about cookies and site data
  9. First, select Remove all, then once the pop up opens, Select Clear: 'Remove all' and then 'Clear' buttons are highlighted with black boxes on a screen about cookies and site data
  10. Select the option highlighted Default browser, change the selected drop down menu to 'Allow' then click the button to Restart the browser: The 'allow' dropdown is highlighted under 'Internet explorer compatibility'
  11. Type the following into the address bar - https://openhr.trfs.org.uk/openhr - You should be presented with the following screen, if not restart your laptop: A screen saying with a warning message
  12. Once loaded, select the shown icon: Three dots are highlighted with a black box, amongst the browser toolbars
  13. Select the option shown, Reload in Internet Explorer mode. This may take 10/15 seconds to change the page: The text 'Reload in Internet Explorer mode' is shown
  14. Select the option highlighted for More Information, then click Go on to the webpage option at the bottom of the shown image: A page of information about the security status of the webpage
  15. Tick the box for 'Use Windows Authentication' shown then click Login (This is usually only needed once OR if you have cleared your cookies): The OpenHR login page is shown

Once login is clicked, you will see the web version of OpenHR. This is NOT the Data Manager.
